THREE people were remanded in custody after appearing in court charged in connection with an incident which left a police officer with life-threatening injuries.
Mansour-Jacques Jallow, 26, Temitope Iyiola, 19, and Mary Fowler, 21, are all accused of robbery.
The injured officer had responded to reports of an armed robbery in Dagenham on Saturday morning.
Suspects then fled the scene in a Silver Chrysler and officers in an armed response car followed.
The car briefly stopped in Stratford and one man ran off.
The car then continued towards Leytonstone High Road and was stopped in Ashlin Road, on the Stratford/ Leytonstone border.
An officer with the CO19 Force Firearms Unit got out of the car and sustained serious head injuries.
It is yet to be established how the injuries were caused, but there were no reports of shots being fired.
As the Chrysler attempted to leave, it rammed a marked police car. Two police officers sustained minor injuries.
Mr Jallow and Mr Iyiola, both of no fixed address, along with Ms Fowler, of Ibex House, Forest Lane, appeared at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court on Monday and were remanded in custody. They are due to appear in court on Thursday.
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 8345 3865 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
