A POLICE officer is still in a life-threatening condition five days after a car chase involving suspected armed burglars.
A specialist firearms officer with the Met's CO19 Unit sustained serious head injuries at the end of the chase in Ashlin Road on the Leytonstone/Stratford border at around 6.43am on Saturday, April 11.
The officer, aged in his thirties, was taken by ambulance to Whipps Cross University Hospital and remains in a critical condition.
Inquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.
A man who was dropped off in Stratford town centre and fled the scene is still at large and a police investigation is ongoing.
Police were called at 6.16am to reports of an aggravated burglary in Dagenham.
The victim reported that the robbers were armed.
Four people were seen fleeing from the scene in a silver Chrysler.
A short time later, officers in an armed response car signalled for the getaway car to stop in Stratford town centre.
The robbers failed to stop and headed towards Leytonstone High Road.
Monsour-Jacques Jallow, 26, Temitope Iyiola, 19, and Mary Fowler, 21, are all accused of robbery.
Mr Jallow, Mr Iyiola, both of no fixed address, and Ms Fowler, of Ibex House, Forest Lane, Stratford, appeared at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court on Monday and were remanded in custody.
They appeared at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court today (Thursday) and were remanded in custody to appear at Snaresbook Crown Court on Wednesday, June 24, for a plea and case management hearing.
