HE is the apprentice who said ‘you’re fired’ to Sir Alan Sugar.

Chigwell entrepreneur Adam Freeman, who runs the loans website www.mrlender.com, dropped out of the hit TV show hours before it started, avoiding the media circus that was about to engulf his fellow contestants.

Each week, Adam will give his verdict on how he thinks each of the candidates have performed.

THE BOYS

HOWARD EBISON: He was hands on in this week's task and seemed quite frustrated with Noorual’s poor leadership skills. He made it clear their team won because of the joint effort, and not because of their leader.

JAMES MCQUILLAN: He gave some good advice to Paula at the beginning of the task, which was to carefully note the prices of the oils and finer details of the product. I think he was playing up to the camera a bit by pretending to be scared of crabs – how can anyone be scared of a crab? Seems to have quieted down a bit! Maybe it was the peeing incident in the boardroom that did it.

BEN CLARKE: Did not help with the pricing of the product when Paula asked him to. The way he spoke to the girls was very aggressive and disrespectful. Maybe they didn’t teach etiquette at Sandhurst! I don’t think Sir Alan fired him because we need a deluded character to watch for entertainment value.

NOORUL CHOUDHURY: I’m not a gambling man, but I will lay odds that next time Noorual is in the boardroom he will be fired. He had a very lucky escape this week as he showed no business skills what-so-ever. He was team leader and should have led his team but he did nothing. His sales were beyond awful and to dress his fellow candidates up in those space suits was a ridiculous idea.

PHILLIP TAYLOR: Showed signs of having a short fuse a few times. It seems when things aren’t going his way he tends to get a bit angry! He should have controlled his anger and emotions better, not only in front of his fellow team members, but also in front of the guy who was designing their product on the computer – who looked a bit wary behind his screen.

THE GIRLS

PAULA JONES: She should not have been fired this week as it was Ben's fault the costing was wrong. Ben won a scholarship to Sandhurst and therefore you would have thought he would have been able to pick up on the £1,000-plus price difference of Sandalwood and Cedarwood. But even when Paula was angry she still seemed to come across as quite pleasant, which is a good quality. Her downfall was her admission that she wasn’t good with numbers – not the greatest USP when going for a job with Sir Alan. Shame she has been fired as she seems lovely and worthy of an apprenticeship.

YASMINA SIADATAN: Was jointly her fault (along with Ben) that the pricing of the oils was a shambles. Her tactics in the boardroom were very underhand and disloyal; but she was open about this back at the house (sorry, ‘penthouse’) to the other candidates. I suppose there is only one job available after all, and it probably made her feel less guilty – nice!

DEBRA BARR: Fourth episode and the fourth candidate to be omitted from this week’s program! Apart from her observation at London’s Bond Street station that everybody was “on their way somewhere” and “in a hurry” she did not really add anything else of value to the task.

KATE WALSH: She once again showed good team spirit and seemed to get on with the other team members very well, and showed a pleasant and genuine approach to her sales technique. She seems to be a well balanced candidate - she doesn’t get too involved but gets involved just enough.

KIMBERLY DAVIS: She seemed to get quite emotional when saying that Philip was upsetting her while trying to work together as a team. She quickly 'flipped' and attempted to show a more feisty side which she obviously found difficult. She was not very good with decision-making and shouted something to Philip about her having balls... no comment!

LORRAINE TIGHE: Oh my god! What was she thinking when she was trying to sell those soaps for a pound. She nearly gave that poor passer by a heart! He was just walking past and she pounded on him from behind – “WUD YOU LIKE TO BUY SOME SOAP?" Argh! If that was me walking past I would have given her a quid just to scarper!

MONA LEWIS: It was a 'good choice' to use her for testing the soap in the shower. She showed good team spirit and seemed to get on with the job at hand. We are still waiting to see her full ability, and it will be interesting when she is made team leader.
