A FOURTH man has been arrested in connection with an incident which left a police officer suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The officer, who remains in a critical condition, sustained serious head injuries in Ashlin Road, on the Leytonstone and Stratford border last Saturday, after three suspected armed robbers were stopped by police.

The three suspects drove away from the robbery scene in Dagenham in a silver Chrysler car and were pursued by officers in an armed response car.

The car was stopped in Ashlin Road, and the police officer got out of his car and was injured. It has not yet been established how the injuries were caused.

A 19-year-old man was yesterday arrested in Golders Green, north London. He is the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the robbery.

MANSOUR-JACQUES Jallow, 26, Temitope Iyiola 19, both of of no fixed abode and Mayr Fowler, 21, of Forest Lane, Forest Gate are accused of robbery. They have been remanded in custody to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on June 24.
