EPPING Forest could hide the final body parts of murder victim Jeffrey Howe, police have said.
Detectives from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit have confirmed they are searching for the hands of Mr Howe in Sewardstone, near Waltham Abbey.
Mr Howe’s legs, torso and severed arm have been previously been found at different locations in Hertfordshire, while his head was found in a field in Leicestershire.
A spokesman for Herts Police confirmed the search by specialist teams in Sewardstone was one of a number of leads they were looking into.
The spokesman said: “Officers are carrying out searches near Sewardstone. They are following up one of a number of lines of inquiry in relation to tracing Jeffrey’s hands. These are the only body parts which have not been traced.”
Mr Howe, 49, a kitchen salesman of Southgate, north London, was formally identified through dental records on April 23.
Stephen Marshall, 37, and his girlfriend Sarah Bush, 20, who were renting a room in his flat, have been charged with his murder.
