TEAMS of Golfers teed off in glorious sunshine at Blake’s Golf Club in North Weald, raising over £2,500 for a charity for seriously ill adults.
The Willow foundations charity golf day on Friday 24 April saw six teams taking to the 18-hole course to compete for a good cause.
Following the game players attended a silent auction, chaired by BBC one show presented Hardeep Singh Kohli.
The man behind the event was Mark Smith, 37, who recieved a special day out thanks to the foundation.
But in a spectacular hole in one, all the winners trophies were lost in the post- not that that has dimmed enthusiasm.
He said: “The day was a great success, made all the more memorable by having Hardeep Singh Kholi attending and handing out the prizes, but no trophies to the winners!
“When the Willow foundation arranged a break for my family and I to Center Parc's whilst I was having treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2007 it brought a normality to our lives that we could not financially afford or dream of at the time.”
He added: “At the end of the day there were many red faces, not through bad play, but due to the glorious weather.”
