AN OPERA performance is going to be shown live on the Big Screen in Walthamstow.
The Royal Opera’s The Barber of Seville will be beamed from Covent Garden’s Royal Opera House to a the town square television for the first time as part of the BP Summer Big Screens Programme 2009.
The free event will be one of 42 free screenings around the country as thousands of people enjoy world-class opera and ballet in their own area.
Chief executive of the Royal Opera House, Tony Hall, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for family and friends to come together this summer and experience these world class performances in the outdoors, maybe even with a picnic.”
Waltham Forest residents can watch the world-famous production on 15 July at 7.30pm.
