THE drink driver who killed baby Finlay Woods has postponed her appeal.
Katie Gutierrez-Perez, 40, of Selwyn Road, Highams Park, was due to appear before a High Court judge to appeal against her seven-year sentence for causing death by dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
However, Finlay’s parents, Tina and Roger Woods, have learned from a probation officer that Gutierrez-Perez has temporarily withdrawn her appeal.
The reason is not yet known, although it is anticipated that the mother-of-two will appeal at a later date.
Tina Woods, 32, of Winchester Road, Highams Park, said: “They cannot believe she has pulled out at this stage. It is quite unheard of apparently.
“The next time it will have to go ahead. In the meantime, it is just a case of another waiting game for us.”
Gutierrez-Perez was sentenced in January for running over and killing the 15-month-old toddler outside Selwyn Primary School in Highams Park last September while high on drink and drugs.
