TWO teenagers have been jailed for selling hard drugs on the streets of Leyton.
Kareem Mirza, 19, of Romford, and Kingsley Harvey, 18, of Lewisham, admitted a total of 18 offences relating to the dealing of heroin and crack cocaine in the Bakers Arms area .
The pair were among a number of dealers with connection to criminal gangs throughout Waltham Forest who were seen selling drugs in the street by undercover officers.
Mirza and Harvey were among 27 people arrested during a series of police raids in January.
Mirza was jailed for three years, while Harvey received a two-year sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court last week.
Detective Inspector Chris Robson, who led the investigation, said: "These sentences reflect the hard work put in by the Waltham Forest Crime Squad in identifying and collecting evidence to stop these individuals from supplying drugs in Waltham Forest.
“It sends a clear message that we will not tolerate drug dealing in this borough."
Cllr Afzal Akram, cabinet member for community safety, said: "Drug dealing has no place in a civilised and law abiding society and I am delighted that these convictions have been achieved.
"Waltham Forest Council will continue to work with the police to make this borough a safer place for everyone and eradicate the menace of drug fuelled crime on our streets."
