FEMALE war veterans who served in the Women's Land Army and Timber Corps during WWII will be honoured at a ceremony in Theydon Bois.
Surviving members will be presented with a specially designed badge to commemorate their service.
District Council Chairman John Knapman said the ceremony will: "Acknowledge the debt that the country owes to them."
Anyone from the district who served in the Land Army and has not been invited to receive a badge should apply on the Defra website at defra.gov.uk/corporate/regulat/forms/wla/wla1.pdf or contact Pat Seager at the council on 01992 564427.
Applicants will need their National Insurance number, approximate date of service, date of discharge and the address of the farm worked on.
The ceremony will take place in the Village Hall on May 15.
