HUNDREDS of people enjoyed live music, dance, theatre and fashion at an annual festival at the University of East London (UEL) Docklands campus.

Mayfest included performances from the Nostalgia Steel band, Serafina Dance Group, singer Shonanis and Barking Bateria, a samba band.

The festival brought together the work of professionals, students, school pupils and community groups.

Mark O'Thomas, UEL performing arts director, said: ""I’m really delighted that so many people came along to enjoy the atmostphere and the activities.

"Once again Mayfest has highlighted the impressive performances from the students and the amazing creative talent we have at UEL in theatre, visual arts, music and community arts practice."
