A DEVELOPER is continuing his fight to build a commuter car park, despite huge objections.
George Dilloway has appealed against the district council's decision to reject his application to create the 350 space car park on land off Abridge Road, Theydon Bois.
More than 500 people sent in support for the proposal, but many people living in the village are against the idea.
A spokeswoman from Theydon Bois Action Group said: "Green Belt land in Theydon Bois should not be sacrificed to enable commuters that live closer to over ground trains to travel more cheaply on the underground."
But Mr Dilloway said: "They shouldn't live next to a tube station if they are bothered by commuters.
"We have been able to address all the issues that it was refused on apart from the fact it is on green belt land. So really it's down to them to decide if there is a big enough need.
"It will stop people dumping their cars everywhere else in Theydon Bois. The only other option is to extend the car park at Epping but then there will be more congestion there, rather than spreading it out."
