A SPECIAL guest had a point to prove at the 46th AGM of Buckhurst Hill Residents’ Society.
Jeremy Stokes, pikeman to the City of London, addressed members in the full regalia of his profession.
Mr Stokes is a member of The Company of Pikemen & Musketeers of the Honourable Artillery Company which re-formed in 1925 for ceremonial purposes within the City of London.
He discussed his role with members of the society with his principal duty being to act as escort to the Lord Mayor at the Lord Mayor’s Show and at state and other civic functions.
The residents’ society also heard from Colin Freeman, Essex Neighbourhood Watch Administrator, before enjoying a red and white wine and cheese celebration in honour of St George.
