A STUDENT at Redbridge College has secured a ‘golden ticket’ to the next round of X-Factor auditions later this month.
Edmar Teixeira, 16, auditioned last Tuesday in front of the TV talent show’s producers, who were so impressed they immediately invited him to the next stage.
He will now perform his song choice, Best of Both Worlds, in front of Sony BMG representatives.
If successful, he will go before the celebrity judges, including Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole.
Edmar, who is studying a BTEC Introductory Certificate in Vocational Studies, had to queue for over ten hours at the O2 to be seen by the show’s staff.
He said: “When I was halfway through singing my song, the producer pulled out the ‘golden ticket’ and filled in my details – I was so happy.
“I came out of the room screaming. I had the cameras on me the whole time, it was amazing.
“If I get through the next stage I’ll get to meet Cheryl Cole – I’d love for her to mentor me. I’m so happy about it but also really scared.”
