DAVID Beckham's childhood home goes under the hammer today (Monday) with a guide price of £215,000.
Agent Colin Evans claimed the house could go for up to £1million as recently as April 6 but the price was brought down to the more modest figure when owner Iftakar Mahmood decided to auction it.
The house, in Norman Road, was the footballer's home until the age of two when he and his family moved to Chingford.
Robin Howeson, of auctioneers Savills said: "Any football enthusiast can bid in an open market.
"The price will reflect either a pure market value or the celebrity interest."
The guide price is closer to the average sale price for houses in the street, which stands at about £203,000.
