POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a Leytonstone mechanic was shot at point blank range.

Alban Topalli, of Ilford, spent 11 days in hospital after a bullet pierced his right lung and narrowly missed his heart.

The 29-year-old said the gunman, who is described as aged about 24, black, and around 5ft 8in tall, approached him after getting involved in a fight on April 11 in Cann Hall Road, Leytonstone.

The suspect is said to be skinny, with dark hair and eyes, wearing a grey top and trousers and driving a Ford Focus.
