MORE than 80 people enjoyed the sunshine as they took part in a waterside walk which raised over £10,000 for charity.

Volunteers and residents from learning disability charity Norwood's residential homes tackled up to 20 miles around Windsor Castle at Virginia Water in Windsor Great Park, Surrey.

David Kaye, from Redbridge, who uses Norwood's Supported Living service said, "I walked ten miles with my friends Michelle and Claire and now I feel happy but need a rest!"

Six year old Nathaniel Young, from Southgate, became the youngest person to take part in a Norwood Challenge after walking ten miles with his family.

He said, “It was really hard but I had fun and want to do it again next year.”

Seven Soldier Girls marched through the park in army gear raising over £1,600 for the cause.

“We enjoyed the Challenge," said participant Jackie Harrison. “Great weather, stunning surroundings and knowing that the money we raised will help so many people, put a spring in our step and kept us motivated.”
