A CHINGFORD primary school is to hold a "pink day" to raise money for breast cancer charities.
Children at Larkswood Primary school, New Road, Chingford, will be encouraged to wear something pink during a non-uniform day on May 22 and bring in a pound for charity.
The event is set to bolster the efforts of 12 staff from the school, who are taking part in the Playtex Moonwalk on May 16.
They will be walking during the night through Hyde Park, past St James's Park, the Globe Theatre and over the Thames, wearing specially decorated pink bras, pink tutus and caps.
Teacher Nicola Barlow said: "We're having the pink day to raise a bit of extra money and we're having a pink assembly where the whole Larkswood team will be wearing their tutus - it's going to be a sea of pink."
As well as the 12 members of staff, members of their families will be joining in the sponsored walk.
