A NOT-so-cunning fox cub had to be rescued after getting a glass jar stuck on his head.
Unlucky Fizzle was found with the container firmly wedged on his head after sticking his nose inside to have a lick at the contents.
RSPCA animal collection officers Nicola Middleton and Susan Briggs arrived at the house in Renance Gardens, Ilford, and managed to get the jar off the cub.
ACO Briggs said: "We checked him for injuries and sprayed some cold water onto his head to cool him down and applied some flea spray to kill off any fly eggs and syringed some water into his mouth, as he was a little dehydrated."
When they were happy that he was well enough to release back to his family they let him go.
ACO Briggs added: "The rate of speed that he shot off under the fence and under next doors shed proved us right.
"We left instructions with the callers to keep an eye out and leave water and food at the back of the garden, and to call us back immediately if they had any concerns.
"This just shows what happens when people leave rubbish - animals can become trapped and many are not lucky enough to be found and die in agony."
