A VERY good season for Ryan came to an end with a convincing win at Bedfords Park.
They secured promotion against the best side they have faced all season. This Harold Hill side were a joy to watch and their passing game had Ryan on their toes throughout.
They took the game to Ryan but found a very tough rearguard the only problem. Clark, Deslandes, Lamaswala and Richmond were strong and organised.
Richmond was excellent at right-back cool and composed. And in goal Maamoon was in control when Hill did break through.
Ashfaq was buzzing all over the pitch and involved in most moves. But Hill matched Ryan for quality with skill and almost took the lead halted by a great tackle by Richmond.
At the other end a one two with Morris and Gough ended with Morris firing home for the lead. Ryan were flowing now and from Ahmed's through ball Taylor slipped the keeper for the 2nd.
Hill hit back and a fierce strike brought a great save from Maamoon. Then another fine passing move had Maamoon tipping over a snap shot. Again Ahmed and Gough combined an fed Taylor who chipped the keeper for a 3-0 half-time lead.
Harold Hill resumed where they left off with a slick passing game on a very hot day. They made Ryan work hard throughout and deserved more than they got.
Clark then diverted a certain goal with a great tackle as did Lamaswala who quickly slid in. O'Rourke then headed away as Hill's pressure was mounting.
Gough calmed the pace down and found ali who beat a man and unleashed a powerful drive that flew in for the 4th. Ryan then got on top for a while and Morris, Ashfaq, Ahmed and Gough all went very close to increasing the lead.
Then Ali played in Ashfaq who brought a great save from the keeper. A great five man passing move ended with another brilliant save. The keeper was finally beaten when Morris beat a man and fired in his twelve of the season to make it a five goal five star performance.
So Ryan's debut season in the Echo league finished with only 3 losse3s from 18 gaining deserved promotion from a very competitive division.
MOM Clark...quality player had a magnificent season.
