WELL done to Cllr Terry Wheeler for wanting to get on with the job of sorting out the Arcade site.
From what I read in your recent reports Cllr Wheeler wants to make this project work and not let the downturn get in the way of this much needed development.
Good on him!
We elect our local politicians to take decisions on our behalf so why don’t all parties just work together to make this happen?
It’s fairly obvious that the Lib Dems are really only worried about the Arcade project affecting one small part of the Lib Dem controlled Chapel Ward where the pool and track is located.
They should not be allowed to derail this project just because of their own narrow self interest.
The Lib Dems should put the borough first.
The last thing anyone wants to see is the council become a talking shop, afraid to take decisions in the interest of the whole borough.
I really don’t want to see the arcade site remain empty for any longer.
We may be in a downturn but that doesn’t mean the world has to stop.
Keep going Cllr Wheeler – getting on with developing the arcade is good for the local economy, good for business and good for the borough.
Let’s see some bricks and mortar!
