LEYTON Sixth Form College students have been performing their versions of popular songs as part of a music course.
The students, who are completing the first year of a BTEC National Diploma, have been examining pop music from the 1950s to the present day.
They joined covers band Diva for the day and asked them questions about the music industry.
The project then culminated in the students giving their own performance of music including hits by Patsy Cline, Big Momma Thornton, Ray Charles, Chic, the Sugarhill Gang, Abba and Rage Against the Machine.
A college spokesman said: "Students continue to achieve very well on the course and many have passed the highly competitive auditions at music colleges, winning places at Trinity College of Music, Guildhall School of Music, Vocaltech, the Institute of Contemporary Music and the Birmingham Conservatoire.
