A SPONSORED fancy dress walk is to be held in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Sue Ratcliffe, 42, of Old Harlow, and her sister, Nina Bradfield, 36, of Larkswood Road, Chingford, who run the Flower Mill florist's in Hatch Lane, are leading the walk in memory of Mrs. Ratcliffe's husband, Gary.
"He was killed in an accident nearly five years ago," Mrs Ratcliffe said.
"He was the master of his Masonic Lodge and the charity he chose was Guide Dogs for the Blind."
Mr Ratcliffe died in 2004 after he was knocked off his bike and his wife decided to set up the sponsored walk as a tribute to him.
The walk is to take place on May 30 and starts from Mrs Ratcliffe's home in Old Harlow, finishing at the United Services Club, in King's Road, Chingford.
All funds raised will go toward sponsoring puppies to be trained as guide dogs.
Mrs Ratcliffe said: "To date, we have raised £58,269.95. Each puppy costs £5000 to buy and we are proud sponsors of 11 dogs so far, many of them who are now fully fledged guide dogs."
