A VETERINARY nurse was shocked to find a tree had collapsed on her car after she left it parked in a street near her workplace.
Jade Byrne-Flodin, 20, had just started her shift at the Palmerston Veterinary Clinic in Buckhurst Hill on Monday afternoon (May 18) when she got a call from a concerned resident of Amberley Road.
Jade, from Barkingside, rushed back to spot to find a 30-year-old Silver Birch had toppled in the wind onto the bonnet of her Volkeswagen Polo.
She said: "It was a pretty shocking sight, and my initial felling was just worry really because I didn't how I was going to get home.
"But luckily it still went and I have even managed to drive it into work today, but it is in a bad way."
Neighbours reported hearing a crash then noticing more natural light flooding into their properties at about 3pm, shortly before a tree surgery firm to arrived to clear the debris.
Jade is now seeking compensation from Epping Forest District Council.
