A FREE course in sports leadership for young people runs next week.
Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP) is running a Sports Leaders UK Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership at Score in Leyton.
It is open to any boys or girls aged 14 to 16 from Waltham Forest, Newham, Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
It enables young people to learn key skills in becoming a sports coach and gain a nationally recognised qualification.
The course is from 10am to 4pm each day from Tuesday May 26 to Friday May 29.
Course Leader and LOCSP education officer Tony Murphy said: “For anyone reading this that wants to get into coaching and has some spare time during half-term next week this course is an excellent opportunity to get on the first rung of the ladder and to see what the job entails.
“Everyone that has completed and passed the course says to me how beneficial it was to them, in fact we now have staff working here who completed the course as their first sports-related qualification.”
For more information or a booking form contact Tony Murphy on 8556 5973, email tony.murphy@locsp.org or visit the website at locsp.org.
