BLUSTERY conditions could not stop play at a challenging charity golf day which raised more than £9,000.
Woolston Manor championship golf course, Essex, provided a beautiful setting for a four-ball competition to raise money for Woodford Green's Haven House Children's Hospice.
The winners on the day were the Woolston Manor Ladies team, with second place going to Bancroft Ltd and the third to Suir-Lee Construction. Nearest to the pin competition was won by Ray James with a fabulous hole-in-one.
Haven House spokeswoman Jane Steward said: "As the players settled down for a three course dinner in the evening they were able to reflect on a highly worthwhile day which achieved a significant outcome for the children and families that use Haven House.
"Haven House extends its thanks to all those that participated in the day, to the main sponsor Bancroft Ltd and also to Douglas Allen, Lawlors Property Services and Kind & Company for their support.
"Thanks also go to Woolston Manor Golf club for their continued support."
