WOMEN raced around a five kilometre course to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The team from Theydon Bois took part in the Race for Life fun run in memory of family and friends who have had cancer.
Team member Fiona Bradley said: "Even though the weather was glorious and there was a brilliant atmosphere and camaraderie between the racers, we were all taking part for the same reason - to raise money for Cancer Research.
"Many proudly wore the names of people whose lives had been touched by cancer and it was poignant and moving to see thousands of these names pinned up on a wall at the finish line."
Fiona and her friends managed to raise more than £1,500 by taking part in the Harlow event, and are now encouraging other women to sign up for the Race for Life event at North Weald Airfield on July 15.
