BBC presenter and veterinary surgeon Steve Leonard introduces children to a snake
MEERKATS, snakes, parrots and tarantulas were among the wildlife handled by visitors at the Lee Valley Spring Wildlife Weekend.
The event, at Waterworks nature reserve, in Lammas Road, Leyton, also featured bug hunting, wood carving and lessons in digital photography.
Families enjoyed guided walks around the site, while four wildlife experts and television personalities, Steve Backshall, Mike Dilver, Steve Leonard and David Lindo spoke about their wildlife experiences.
