DETECTIVES have renewed an appeal for information about a burglary in which a woman leapt from her first-floor flat to escape a masked man with a gun.
Police now believe up to three men were involved in the raid at Badburgham Court in Ninefields estate, Waltham Abbey, at about 9.30pm on Wednesday, April 15.
The woman, a 24-year-old former pupil at King Harold School in Waltham Abbey, escaped by jumping from a rear fire-escape onto a grass verge about 12ft below, leaving the thief to steal cash, a diamond ring and a watch.
Det Con Jo Lanz of Waltham Abbey CID said: “Although only one man burst in and threatened the victim we now believe one or two others were involved.
“We want to identify these men who we think drove away in a old shape, silver Ford Mondeo-style car which was parked on the corner with Amwell Court.”
The gunman is described as white, of medium build and about 5ft 6in tall. At the time, he was wearing dark clothing and a black balaclava.
Anyone with information should call police on 0300 3334444, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
