CHOSEN from hundreds of hopefuls, three girls from Epping have all been performing in the hit West End musical Joseph.
Amy Lacy-Kerr, 9, Maddie Wotherspoon, 11 and Emily Wogan, 9 all from Epping were in the chorus of Joseph and have appeared on stage alongside Lee Mead and Gareth Gates for seven months.
But their stint is sadly coming to an end, as the cast put on a final performance of the long running musical this week.
Starting out more than 40 years ago in 1968, the lead role has been played by a host of stars including Jason Donovan and Philip Schofield, who both wore the famous technicolour dreamcoat for their performance.
The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical was propelled to new heights when Lee Mead was chosen to play Joseph by members of the public on television programme 'Any Dream Will Do.'
The girls said they were proud to have been part of the popular production.
Maddie said: "It's been amazing, especially being on stage with Gareth Gates. I love all of it and even though I have done it so many times I still get a buzz from the audience.
"I'm really pleased to have been part of the show, and my team is doing the very last show ever of Joseph.
"I'll miss all the people I have met, I've made some really good friends."
The show will hold a special place in Amy's memory after she celebrated her ninth birthday on stage alongside Lee Mead.
She said she will never forget the moment she found out she had been given a place in the Children's Choir: "I actually got the letter saying I had a part after school. Imagine Coming back from a days work and finding out you are in a West End show!"
Joseph will come to an end on May 30, but Maddie said her acting career has only just begun.
She added: "I would love to be in more musicals, although I think I'll have a break first. It's been my dream to be on stage since I was small."
