HE'S the apprentice who said ‘you’re fired’ to Sir Alan Sugar.

Chigwell entrepreneur Adam Freeman, who runs the loans website www.mrlender.com, dropped out of the hit TV show hours before it started, avoiding the media circus that was about to engulf his fellow contestants.

Each week, Adam will give his verdict on how he thinks each of the candidates have performed.

THE BOYS

JAMES MCQUILLAN: This week's episode opened with James trying to be a mediator in Yasmina and Debra’s childish car park row. It was very amusing to watch because he couldn’t get a word in, bless him. He did well on the sales presentation alongside Yasmina, though. He is now surprisingly the only guy left in the flat with the four girls. Out of tens of thousands of male applicants for the position of Sir Alan’s next apprentice, the best this country can offer is, James! Maybe Sir Alan should put an advert in the local Guardian for his apprentice next year?

HOWARD EBISON: [FIRED] He was team leader for the TV shopping channel task and made the vital error of stating on camera that he will not be fired this week - any candidate that makes this claim within the first five minutes of the show is certain to be fired. Behind the camera he supported Kate quite well, although she chose not to listen to him. He presented well alongside Lorraine and listened to the advice Kate was giving him through his ear piece. Overall he showed good project management and - pre-boardroom battle - his other team members agreed. But he does not take enough risk and this is unacceptable for Sir Alan. I think Sir Alan made a mistake by firing him this week.

THE GIRLS

YASMINA SIADATAN: This week's project manager. It was a fierce battle in the car park between her and Debra for the title, but she bravely stood her ground against the giant and won. Watching her trying to get Debra’s approval afterwards as project manager was a tad cringe worthy. She paired up with James as a presenter for the shopping channel and their rehearsal seemed better than their actual live performance. Repeatedly referring to their product as "Just £9.99 – bargain" was embarrassing for them when they found out that the product was, in fact, £17.99.

DEBRA BARR: Sir Alan’s comments are obviously falling on deaf ears with Debra because she is not calming down or listening more, and seems to be becoming even more aggressive and scary. She tries to bully other people to get what she wants - like a spoilt child. She presented alone to sell her items and the shopping channel said that she took to it like a duck to water - but I thought she was crap!

LORRAINE TIGHE: Maybe if Lorraine had stayed behind the scenes and off-camera, the team would have sold an extra couple of those gross leather leaf jackets, and that would have won them the task. Ol' slow burner didn’t even realise how much she was insulting Kate by telling her and Howard that he is certainly more attractive than her on television – not the kindest remark to make to a contestant on a reality show! Doh! She didn’t mention the price or sales hotline number enough when selling the fat fryer, and seemed to be more interested in munching on the chips. Lorraine should have been fired this week - last week, week before…how did she even become a candidate in the first place?

KATE WALSH: Kate worked behind the scenes directing, which was better than her presentation as she seemed to freeze up a lot. The infra-red guitar sales pitch was probably the best one out of all the presentations and most probably made up the majority of team Ignite's sales. It was the first time we have seen her lose her temper, with her ‘dagger eyes’ at Lorraine, but I think it was appropriate given Lorraine’s thoughtless comment.
