THIS autumn, party-goers looking for an excuse to let their hair down need look no further than the Sunflower Ball, to be held on Saturday September 12 at the Metropolitan Police Sports Club, Chigwell, in aid of St Clares Hospice.

Guests can expect to enjoy a drinks reception followed by a sumptuous three course meal and then be serenaded long into the night with a live band.

The event is organised by The Loughton Friends of St Clare Hospice, and will include a raffle with some spectacular prizes up for grabs, from a weekend away for two to a cut and blow dry at a local hair salon.

The Friends Group is chaired by Marilyn Coleclough who said: "The Sunflower Ball is a People’s Ball in that although you have to make some effort to dress up - you don’t have to feel intimindated. If a ballgown or tuxedo is not part of your attire, it doesn’t matter."

Last year, the event raised £11,500 for the charity and this year promises to be an even bigger event.

Marilyn added: "You can come along and enjoy yourself, the music is easy listening with party hits later. That combined with welcome drinnks and a meal is very reasonable."

"Also, with the recession being considered, tickets are ten pounds less than last year. Tickets this year are only £39 each, therefore it’s a bargain."

To book tickets, call 020 8508 6115 or enquire at any of the Hospice’s charity shops.
