A WALTHAM Abbey scout has received the highest scouting honour in the land for his age group.
Thomas Fleet, 11, achieved the highest training Award for Youth Members of Scouting by training at a number of camps.
Thomas has been a member of the 7th Epping Forest Scout Group for the past four years.
He said, “My favourite bit was doing the camp when we went to the zoo. The biggest challenge was when we did a treasure hunt”
The Chief Scout Award is achievable by all members of that age group, no matter their physical or mental ability.
The scouts always need more volunteers, to find out more visit www.scouts.org.uk/join
