THE taxi-driver assaulted by tabloid celebrity Jack Tweed has spoken out after his attacker enjoyed a party-filled weekend on his release from prison - just half way through his 12 week sentence.
Tweed, 21, from Buckhurst Hill, celebrated the end of his imprisonment at Edmunds Hill Prison in Suffolk, with a party at Faces Nightclub in Gants Hill. He had been found guilty of attacking cabbie
Stephen Wilkins, of Loughton taxi firm Sadlers, after a booze-filled night out with friends at Epping’s Club 195 last May. Despite being one of the most valuable names in show business, Tweed has yet to pay Mr Wilkins a penny of the £200 damages the court ordered. The father of two said: "He can't have the money - champagne and blondes are expensive."
"Basically, he's gotten away with it and he's laughing at the justice system, his prison was like a hotel where he got to play computer games and top up his tan.
"I'm back working nights, which wasn't easy, but I have to I have children and a family to support."
Tweed shared an Upshire home with his former wife - reality TV star Jade Goody, before her death from cervical cancer in March and spent some time at her graveside in St Thomas’s Churchyard after his release.
The £12 a head party at Faces was billed as ‘Jack Tweed’s Relaunch Party’ and it is thought organisers may have made up to £50,000 from it.
Mr Wilkins is still recovering from injuries he sustained in the attack when Tweed grabbed him around the neck as the taxi was travelling at 50 mph, and ordered him to do a U-turn.
Mr Wilkins said: “I've got two kids and you have to explain the difference between right and wrong, my daughter is 14, she knows exactly what's going on, I've got to explain to her why the man who did that to me is out already, having a laugh.
"He will fall from grace."
