TWO people have been arrested at Leytonstone Station for possession of Class A drugs.
They were stopped by police as part of anti-drugs campaign Operation Woof.
The operation saw about ten officers visit the station on May 29 with a “passive drugs dog”, trained to detect drugs or recent contact with drugs.
A spokeswoman for Waltham Forest police said: “It was run in partnership with British Transport Police, Transport for London and revenue protection officers.
“This is good news for us.”
A total of 36 people were stopped, including seven people who were issued with detection notices for possession of cannabis and one who was arrested for a public order offence.
Following cannabis's reclassification as a Class B drug, detection notices, or warnings, are issued for a first offence.
An £80 penalty may be issued for a second offence and a third could result in arrest.
