A TOPLESS picture on view in a supermarket car park has made one man’s blood boil.
Tim Ellis, 36, of Broomstick Hall Road, Waltham Abbey, said he was disgusted to see the naked picture in a van at his local Tesco’s.
Mr Ellis had popped out for a shopping trip to the store, in Sewardstone Road, Waltham Abbey, when he noticed the Tesco Extra van parked near the recycling bins.
He said: “Inside the cab was a picture of a naked woman. I thought ‘This is ridiculous. This person is unprofessional and doesn’t deserve a job.’
“I made a complaint to customer services, and they said they were very sorry, they’d contact the store manager and get it sorted out straight away. Five hours later I went past and it’s still there.
“Don’t get me wrong, I can see the funny side of it, but unfortunately I was made redundant from Woolworths, and I’ve been applying to Tesco’s for a job. To see this unprofessionalism made my blood boil. It’s in the middle of the car park- a nice clear picture of a woman. If you were to pin that on your desk at work how long would it be before you got talked to and disciplined? I just feel disgusted.”
A spokesman for Tesco’s said: “It was a copy of Zoo magazine and would only be visible if someone went up to the van and peered directly through the window. We’re sorry if any offence was caused. We take a common sense approach and the store manager might have had a word, but it’s not a disciplinary matter.”
