Regarding your article (‘Dogs are the latest street weapons’,May 28), well I do not think the authorities, Government, RSPCA, and police are taking this issue seriously enough.
I know quite a few people who have had their cats set upon and a friend had her cat ripped apart by two terriers and the dog owners did nothing to stop them.
Some people do not report these attacks, so I guess there is no way of knowing how many pets have been attacked. I think it is disgusting and totally wrong to allow these people to get away with this.
Why can’t there be some sort of licensing or an order where people have to be over 18 to own one, attend dog training classes, have it micropchipped and wearing a collar and muzzle?
Something needs to be done before we are over-run with these dogs. I feel sorry for the dogs but I am not adverse to them being seized and put to sleep.
It is ridiculous. Why is the law allowing this?
