EXPENSIVE jewellery has been stolen from various homes across the district in a series of burglaries during the last week.
A silver and diamond Tiffany necklace, gold Tiffany bangle and a necklace with Swarvoski jewels were taken from a property in Ashfields, Loughton after thieves gained entry via an insecure rear door.
In Haywood Court, Waltham Abbey, a selection of jewellery including an 18 carat gold diamond solitaire ring was stolen when burglars forced their way through the front door.
While on Ongar Road in Abridge, burglars were disturbed when the occupant of the house caught them stealing an expensive watch.
The suspect was described as a white, six foot tall man.
Burglars gained entry into a property at Westmede, Chigwell through an insecure rear patio door and made off with various Asian jewellery.
Police are now warning people to be extra vigilant during the warmer months, when windows and doors are often left open.
