MEDIA students learnt how to produce their own radio shows as part of a course at Leyton Sixth Form College.
Students completed a radio production course with experts from award-winning music school Pointblank and radio station Streetlife FM.
Student Malachi Beckford said: “He gave us the experience of a live broadcast and information that will influence my choice in whether I am going to pursue a job in the radio industry.
“It isn’t as easy as people think. There is a lot of time and effort that is put into planning and producing a successful radio show.”
DJ Big Ted, who co-hosts the Hip Hop show on Kiss 100, also gave the students some tips.
Course leader, Alistair Wardill, was pleased that the students got a chance to meet a practising DJ.
He said: “It was a successful course, and I would recommend it to students who are thinking about going into the radio industry, or are just interested in radio and audio editing in general.”
