A BLAZE broke out in a flat above a fast food shop in Leytonstone Road.
A total of 15 firefighters spent nearly an hour fighting the fire, close to the Leytonstone/Stratford border.
It was finally brought under control by 1.28am yesterday morning.
Nobody was hurt in the blaze, which damaged the first floor and roof of the flat.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
