A P.E teacher from Roding Valley High school in Loughton has been given one of the industries top accolades for his dedication.
Mr Keith Bailey is one of three UK teachers to get "honoured member" status from the Association for Physical Education (AFPE) which boasts 10,000 members.
He was awarded after dedicating much of his 24-year career to consulting on the UK's P.E curriculum.
He said: "To be recognised in this was by your peers and professionals is especially rewarding, I’m delighted and honoured"
"Since I was a young age I wanted to be a P.E teacher, so I was quite chuffed to get this.
"Thirty-nine weeks of the year I'm in a tracksuit, so it was a bit strange to get into a suit and go to such a grand place."
He was given the award at a ceremony at the Royal Society for Arts (RSA) London, by Baroness Estelle Morris, Former Secretary of State for Education.
