A YOUNG girl who made it through months of gruelling cancer treatment has had her courage rewarded with a day out at London Zoo.
Amy Green, 3, of England’s Lane, Loughton, was diagnosed with leukaemia in December 2007 and forced to spend Christmas Day in hospital as she underwent chemotherapy.
At her London zoo party, organised by Cancer Research UK and TK Maxx, Amy met X-factor finalists Same Difference, TV presenter Michael Underwood, and Angellica Bell, and Britain’s Got Talent ventriloquist Gareth Oliver.
Mum Denise described the party as “magical” adding: “Amy loved it- she loves parties and this was something special. She had a wonderful time meeting everyone and seeing the animals. She also had her face painted for the first time which was fun for her.”
Amy is a previous recipient of Cancer Research UK’s Little Star award which acknowledges bravery in youngsters who have faced up to the challenge of cancer.
