It was a week of retro-themed activities at Upshire Primary school this week as pupils marked its 70th anniversary.

The school in its current form was set up at the Upshire Road site in 1939, and past pupils of all ages came along to share their memories.
Pupils learnt about a specific decade in the schools history then put on a gala performance of songs from that time under the watchful eye of former students.
Upshire Headteacher Jackie Blackburn said:" It was very well received, the current pupils were fascinated to hear the memories of our past pupils- and they in turn loved seeing how the technology used in the school has moved on."
One former pupil Janet remembered the school during wartime.
She said: "In 1944, I remember sitting in the air raid shelter during the war and was told to sing louder when the planes went over."
Current student Taylor, 11, said: "the week was full of fun activities and we learnt a lot."
