POLICE have said a post mortem will be held today on the two teenagers who died in a car crash yesterday, as more details about a man arrested over the smash are released.
Two 18-year-old passengers were killed when the car they were in smashed head-on into a tree in Aldersbrook Road, Wanstead, at around 2.20am yesterday.
The driver of the car and another passenger are currently both in a stable condition in hospital.
Next of kin have been informed but police are still waiting to formally identify the pair.
It is understood that the families of those who died do not want to speak to the media.
Police have confirmed this morning that an 19-year-old man arrested at an East London police station over the crash has been bailed until September pending further enquiries.
However officers are refusing to give any more details into the nature of the arrest.
Anyone with any information is urged to call the Chadwell Heath Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8597 4874.
