ABRIDGE burst into life this weekend as the ever-popular carnival came to town.
The roads were a riot of colour as floats, food, music and dancing turned the village into a street party.
The weekend started with a evening concert on saturday, before culminating in a parade, vehicle show, and a farmers market on sunday. Majorettes, marching bands and carnival princes and princesses were the order of the day, with the youngest and the oldest locals happily taking part in lovely weather.
The procession went around the village and onto the Abridge playing fields where stall holders and a bouncy castle awaited visitors.
Abridge Town Councillor John Filby said the yearly spectacle was better than ever.
He said: "We had record breaking numbers on the saturday and the sunday, the concert on saturday was a sell out. It was brilliant, on behalf of the committee i'd like to thank the hundreds of people who gave up their time so that the Carnival could go ahead.
Although the final amount raised is still being counted organisers say they expect it to eclipse the £3,000 raised last year.
The money raised will go to the Abridge Village Hall fundraisers and local churches, Lambourne Primary School and pre-school groups.
