A local gym was the scene for amazing feats of strength this week as a strongman competition got under way in Waltham Abbey.
Sinews were strained and muscles were tested through a number of events at the Krunch Gym, including pulling a ten ton fire engine, lifting a 23 stone bar and carrying fridges over a 30 metre course.
The popular day at the Gym in Brooker Road industrial estate saw families come out to enjoy the sunshine and cheer on a bit of healthy sportsmanship.
Gym Owner Neale Cranwell said: "I was really suprised at how busy it was, we had lots of families coming down and enjoying the barbeque we put on."
winners were split into two categories, with under and over 95Kg winners.
The under 95Kg category was won by Arram Eghoyan, 25, while Marek Kucherski, 34 took the over 95Kg crown.
The winners recieved £500, three months free membership at Krunch Gym and a protein supplement from event sponsors UBOSS.
