A GUIDED walk touching on 3,000 years of history will be held in Walthamstow Marshes.
The free event is on Sunday, June 28, and will be led by Dr Neil Houghton, chairman of Walthamstow Historical Society.
The walk will look at evidence of a landscape created during the last Ice Age.
A particular feature of the walk will be a visit to the area where 100 years ago pioneer Alliott Verdon Roe took to the skies in the very first all British aeroplane.
Dr Houghton has studied the first flight and has written a book on the subject which is due to be published by the Walthamstow Historical Society.
The walk will last about one-and-a-half hours. Meet in the car park at the far end of Coppermill Lane, Walthamstow, on Sunday 28 June at 2pm.
No booking required. For further information call 07792 750017.
