A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after falling from a bridge this morning.
The unnamed man plunged from the Central Line railway bridge in Chigwell that goes over the M11 motorway at around 7am.
He hit the ground on the northbound carriageway.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the scene, and the busy motorway was closed in both directions between junctions four and five.
The man was rushed to the Royal London Hospital.
Police say his injuiries are serious and life-threatening.
The south bound carriageway reopened at 7.40am but the northbound lane remains closed this morning while police continue with their enquiries.
