A MAN disappeared on his birthday after leaving his house for a morning walk.
Graham Cater, 64, left his home, in Poundfield Road, Loughton at 6am on Saturday, after telling his wife he was going for a walk in the local area.
He has not been seen since, and his wife, who called police when he failed to return, has described his absence as “completely out of character.”
Police are concerned for Mr Cater’s safety and welfare and a widespread search of the local area is being carried out.
The search, which is being carried out by local officers, members of the Essex Police marine unit, the Essex Police helicopter, police search specialists and Epping Forest rangers, is being concentrated on fields and open land near the River Roding.
Mr Cater is 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build and has very short grey hair. He is tanned having been on a recent holiday. He is thought to have been wearing jogging bottoms and a dark blue sweat shirt.
Anyone who has seen Mr Cater in the area should contact officers at Loughton on 0300 333 4444.
