AN autistic young artist from Chingford is to have her latest work displayed at the Tate Modern.
Fiona de le Nougerede, 20, whose mother Debra de le Nougerede is married to Waltham Forest councillor Graham Sinclair, will see her Picasso-inspired piece displayed in the McAuley Studio on Level 1 of the famous gallery on Wednesday (24).
Fiona regularly attends arts and crafts sessions at Inky Cuttlefish Art Studios, in Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow.
She has previously had art displayed as part of the Waltham Forest Art Trail, where she sold a piece of her work last year, and as far afield as Berlin, Germany and Durban, South Africa.
Her mother Deborah said her daughter enjoys a range of arts and activities. "She's been drawing all her life. She started doing quite a lot of good work at Bridge School in Islington," she said.
"She's very good at all different things and she also goes to Snaresbrook Art Centre, where she makes jewellery and cards."
The free exhibition - called It's My Life! - is organised by Redbridge & Waltham Forest Learning Disability Partnership and is open from 10am - 4pm.
